I was recommended by a friend to James Tate office. I started a small business and we were looking for some General Liability Insurance. So we called the office, he seemed very professional. So we thought we made a good choice, but once we paid are fees upfront that was it. As a small business owner things change drastically. You have to stay in contact with your insurance agent constantly to update them on any changes. James Tate, once he gets your money the only person you will be talking to, is his office staff. His office staff is very professional but the majority of times they couldn't help us because James Tate keeps them out of the loop. So most of the times they have to call you back, until they communicate with him. Every time we called he was out of the office. One time we called they said he was out of the office, so we told the staff to cancel our insurance policy with him. Less than a minute, Mr. Tate answer the phone and I said "Cancel our policy" he said don't worry about it..
"its still in underwritting anyway"...Then he hung up. I guess he forgot he was a business owner instead of some street punk. Within 1 month of canceling our insurance we get an audit letter from State Farm. The way he set our insurance up triggered something with State Farm. No we owe over $600 and only was with him for 14 days...and the same friend who recommended us to him, owes over $1,000 from an audit by State Farm. PLEASE listen to me, he is very unprofessional and a fraud. Don't let the smiles fool you - IT's SMILE OF A CROOK, maybe that's why he only has 1 review and he probably paid somebody to write that one. It's too many black state farm agents out there doing a wonderful job...but this one (James Tate) is the bad apple..and its sad because me and my wife was looking forward to doing business with him. I guess you learned the hard way...It took a while for me to write this review but I didn't want anybody else making the same mistake we did...
