Just returned from a convention in Orlando where Valley Expo was the company chosen to handle freight logistics, booth pipe and drape, electrical, etc. They guys working the show were extremely rude and used threatening language.
I had my freight shipped directly to the show site on the day of move-in to avoid storage fees. That worked fine, however I received a bill from Valley for $1200 to take 2 crates off a truck and deliver them to our stand. Even though it was very expensive, and came as a surprise, I agreed to pay it, but had to follow my company's AP Process and submit an invoice. THis wasn't acceptable to them, and they proceeded to threaten me that if I didn't pay at once, they would take my assets and put them in storage until I paid. They also said they would charge me for storage and that I would end up having to pay 3 to 4 times what I already owed. I told the guy very clearly that he should reconsider how he talks to clients and that I would not be intimidated by his threats. He said "well, you will have to pay a lot more and I won't let your stuff leave".
Once that matter was resolved, and on move out day, I had my freight company on site to pickup my crates. I turned in the waybills to Valley and everything was set. The Valley repo handling freight wouldn't let my crates go unless I initialed a box on the form that said they will ship using their carrier if my carrier doesn't pick up my crates. ...even though he was right there.
Bullies. I hope they have better staff in other locations because I certainly wouldn't hire them to do anything. GES is a better choice.
